04/11/2004 Esther in Southampton
It is so easy to take the Eurostar to visit London! It is not even that expensive! Esther came to visit me from the 4th of November till the 7th of November 2004. I was so exited, at that moment I had some difficulties because I missed my friends very much! We had our lunch near the Houses of Parliament and we visited the Victoria and Albert museum. There was a great exhibition on Christoffer Dresser, a late 19th century designer.
We had dinner at the Wine Bar which is my favourite place in Southampton. They serve nice tapas and we got some good vouchers from our Students Union to spend there. I showed Esther my university college with its enormous library, restaurant, ... I showed her Ocean Village, West key shoppingcentre, ...
We meant to go out on Saturday evening, do not get me wrong, we did go out but only for a very short time because we first visited my dear friend Jose. He treated us to some sambuca (want a picture?). It was a very funny night. It had to be good, because the day after Esther had to go home! Her trip home was almost a thriller, as there were hardly any busses to take her to London Waterloo. Esther managed to take the Eurostar back to Belgium just in time!
